Expertly hand cranked by me on my antique LeGare circular sock knitting machine. I'm currently knitting 3 types of socks-crew length, shortie length and heel tab socks.  So what is the difference?

The Crew Length starts off with a 1 x 1 rib and continues down the leg with a 3 x 1 rib.  This rib extends down the top of the foot which gives the sock an added stretchiness. The length of the leg is 7-8 inches.

The Shortie Length starts with a 1 x 1 rib and this plain knitting carries down the top of the foot.  The cuff measures approximately 3 inches.

The Heel Tab is a fun little sock that is done in plain knitting, no rib.  But it works perfectly in tennis shoes or sandals.
